Ikea Mattress Reviews

Tyler Joseph (TJ) Thomas

If you are considering buying a bed from Ikea, you should first take a moment to read our Ikea mattress reviews. Ikea is well-known for having tons of furniture at value prices. Typically the furniture requires a little time and elbow grease to put together, but the mattresses, for the most part, come whole.

In our review, we take a look at their beds in detail and find the best Ikea mattresses for the money. If you want a few more options, take a look at these memory foam mattress reviews from brands like Ikea, Macy’s, and more compared together in one place.

Ikea Mattress Reviews

Which are the best Ikea mattresses? How do you even figure something like that out? Ikea does not have mattress reviews on their site. No worries. We take look at what customers have to say in Ikea mattress reviews from various bed review websites here in this review.

Keep in mind, Ikea mattresses do have issues with longevity and durability, especially with regular use. Most models are best suited for limited-use spaces like guest rooms.

In the following sections, we charted owner satisfaction percentages for each bed. Below the charts are lists of the mattresses along with their firmness levels. This should help you find the best Ikea mattresses for your needs in no time.

Ikea Memory Foam Mattress Reviews

Memory foam is the best mattress in satisfaction rates overall at 81%, so that’s a good place to start. Ikea memory foam beds are mostly below the average, but they are cheaper than most. Owner satisfaction rates improve when the beds are used infrequently.

Ikea doesn’t have many firmness options in their foam lines. Also, their foam beds may not be suitable for heavier people or side sleepers, who tend to require a thick bed. The thicker models from Ikea tend to receive higher ratings.

Ikea Innerspring Mattress Reviews

Spring mattresses are the most common type of bed available today. This is true at Ikea as well, because they have more innerspring beds than other types. Overall, only about 63% of innerspring mattress owners report being satisfied with their purchase. Ikea innerspring beds rate slightly better than average, however. Those who use these mattresses infrequently tend to rate them higher.

Ikea Latex Mattress Reviews

Latex mattresses have been around for some time, but are starting to become more common lately. Ikea has only one mattress made entirely from latex, the Morgongava. The others are made with memory foam bases and a latex comfort layer.

Ikea latex mattresses rate slightly higher than latex mattresses overall when limited to infrequent use. They have issues with durability and longevity when subjected to regular use, but are the best mattresses from Ikea according to owner satisfaction.

Best Mattresses Overall

Here are the best mattresses from each type. Latex and memory foam consistently rate higher than innersprings and Ikea mattresses are no different. Across the board memory foam and latex rate about 10 or more percentage points higher than innersprings. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages, so consider your needs and budget when making a purchase.

Best Affordable Mattress from Ikea

We recommend IKEA’s memory foam mattress, The Morgedal, because it offers great comfort and support for the price. Durability is a bit of an issue depending on the usage. The life of Ikea mattress may be dramatically shortened if used by an adult or heavier person regularly. Most Ikea mattresses are best suited for children or limited adult use. Overall, this bed is 7 inches tall and has a medium-firm feel.

Finding an Affordable Mattress

Finding a good mattress doesn’t have to be hard. However, finding it in-stores for the best price can prove a little trickier. IKEA has plenty of affordable beds to learn about; however, some have durability issues. Those seeking more from a mattress should also take a look at our mattress reviews, which showcase some of the top-rated brands.

As with any hunt, those who work hard will reap better rewards. The best mattresses are not hard to find, but you do have to look.

  • Ikea latex mattress, no matter what they change the name to, will compress and become very unhealthy for your back. Mine did within 2 years. No help from the company! Keep looking for something better!

  • It is 5:30 AM and I have spent another restless night with the Morgedal full size mattress I bought from Ikea. I had thought I was getting a memory foam mattress but it is just foam and it is hard as a rock. I weigh about 190 and have had to spend an additional 150 for a memory foam topper as the bed is literally about as comfortable as sleeping on the floor. I have never had a bed that was more uncomfortable. If you are considering buying a bed from Ikea – think again. I am out $450 and I have a bed I hate and haven’t had a good night’s sleep in months. For $450 I could have bought a really nice bed. Hell – for $200 I could buy a better mattress anywhere and will be doing so as soon as I can.

  • Thank you for your review. I am currently trying to find a %100 pure botanical latex mattress for a decent price, and this has helped.
